Blessed are You, Adonai our God, Ruler of the Universe, who made us holy with mitzvot, took pleasure in us, and with love and favor gave us the holy Shabbat as a heritage, a reminder of Creation. It is the first among our days of sacred assembly recalling the Exodus from Egypt. Thus You have chosen us, endowing us with the holiness, from among all peoples by granting us Your holy Shabbat lovingly and gladly. Blessed are You, Adonai, who makes Shabbat holy.
