Dinner with the Rabbi 11th/12th Grade (Mechinah – Packing for Life)

Are you ready for life beyond high school? Recently confirmed in their commitment to Jewish living and learning, our students continue their journeys with our Rabbis. Topics are selected to help our students understand the value of Jewish community as well as to navigate the world beyond high school using a ‘JPS’ (Jewish Positioning Satellite). A special focus is placed on the preparation (mechinah) of our students for the biggest project and decision of their lives to date: What do I do after high school and how so I craft a well-lived life as an adult Jew in the modern world?
Monthly Shabbat and Other Dinners – Schedule to be announced

Madrichim (Student Teachers)

Ready to give back to the next generation, our high school students learn the skills of Jewish educational leadership, mentorship and coaching as many prepare for future teaching positions in religious schools across the country throughout their college years and beyond.
School Schedule

Temple Youth Groups

7th/8th Grade Team Sinai

Growing into young adulthood, our students have the opportunity to work together in social, cultural and social action activities as they continue to craft the people they are to become. Doing so in a Jewish environment, they have the potential to build upon the values we have been teaching. Efforts are made to join our youth with those of other synagogues in order to broaden their Jewish social experiences.
6-8 Programs per year

PARTY 9th – 12th Grade Temple Youth Group

Our Senior Temple Youth Group program is designed to:

  • Instill Jewish Identity
  • Increase Synagogue Participation among High School Youth
  • Foster Long-term Commitment to the Ideals and Values of Reform Judaism
  • Create Today the Reform Jewish Congregants of Tomorrow
  • Build Leadership Capacity

Understanding that our high school students need a Jewish framework in which to create the world of tomorrow, we support them in their efforts to create a well-rounded Jewish Temple Youth Group Program that includes Jewish learning, social action, Jewish culture, Jewish ritual and friends with whom to share. We encourage them to create programs that increase their levels of intimacy, intensity and authenticity with each other, Jewish tradition, the People of Israel and our clergy. Working in partnership with the North American Federation of Temple Youth (NFTY), we strive to connect our students to other Reform youth in the Pittsburgh area, Pennsylvania region, North America and around the world through summer camping, Israel trips and retreats.
