BBQ & Learn

  • Rabbi Gorban will lead a discussion on Shiva and its importance to the community
  • Recent mourners will share their stories
  • We will role play what volunteers do at a Shiva

Brotherhood and WOTS welcome you to come and enjoy a summer evening BBQ. After dinner, we will be exploring why it is important for people to sign up to volunteer to attend Shivas. Rabbi Gorban will discuss importance of Shiva for the community; people who have lost people in the last year will speak on what it meant to them to have a representative from Temple at the Shiva; and we will role play what volunteers do during a Shiva call. We will provide the meat and buns, if you will bring a salad, dessert, or something to drink to share--that would be great. There is no fee, but please sign up on-line so that we know how many people are coming.

Please sign-up here or RSVP to Judy Mahan at (412) 421-9715 ext 110. The address for the BBQ is located close to the Temple and will be provided upon RSVP.
