Message from Our President and Tribute Co-Chairs

Dear Friend(s),

It is with pride and pleasure that we announce this year’s events in tribute to Rabbi Jamie Gibson’s 30 years of service to Temple Sinai. It is within the spirit of his special relationship with our congregation that we are dedicating this coming year’s efforts to recognize our beloved senior rabbi on this most special anniversary.

• We have just concluded a wonderful November 3rd weekend of music with special guest Cantor Benjie Ellen Schiller.
• We look forward to our March Interfaith Dialogue Program. Dates to be determined and please watch for more information in ChaiLights and on our website.
• “Honor Our Past. Embrace our Future” is the theme for Rabbi Gibson’s 30th Anniversary tribute, and all are welcomed to involve themselves as we move forward. 
• On Sunday, April 29th we will hold a Gala Tribute Dinner at Temple Sinai to celebrate this festive occasion. Please hold the date. It will be the centerpiece to our annual campaign, and assist us greatly as we move forward with our endowment efforts.
• Many of you have already lent your names to our Tribute Committee. Our entire congregation is invited to join in recognizing Rabbi Gibson. To be included on the Committee please let us know by contacting Barry Rudel at brudel@templesinaipgh.org or by calling the Temple office at 412-421-9715, ext. 133. Our first meeting is scheduled for Sunday, December 3^rd at 10:30 a.m. and all are welcome. Kindly RSVP by November 28^th.

As part of the celebration, we are inviting congregants to submit photos and/or remembrances you may have of Rabbi Gibson that you wish to include for the Gala. Deadline for this is March 1^st, and please send them to Barry Rudel. Electronic submissions are preferred.
