Potential Unification with Rodef Shalom congregation

On Sunday, June 8, 2025, Members of Temple Sinai are invited to a Special Meeting of the Congregation to vote on moving forward toward possible unification between Temple Sinai Pittsburgh Pennsylvania and Rodef Shalom Congregation. The meeting will start at 12 PM and will be in hybrid format—onsite and on Zoom. The potential unification will be the only business at the Special Meeting

The vote is to approve the recommendation of Temple Sinai's Board of Trustees, and of the joint Steering Committee, that our congregations move forward with the unification process.

For those attending onsite, a light lunch will be available at 11:30 AM. At 12 PM, members of the Steering Committee and Board will offer a presentation and discussion regarding unification. Voting will remain open for all Members onsite or via zoom (including via dial-in) from 12 PM until 7 PM. While we expect the main portion of the meeting to be about 60-90 minutes, the meeting will remain open until the evening to ensure an opportunity to vote. Per our Bylaws, all Regular Members in good standing are entitled to vote at any time during that time frame. Each household in good standing may have up to two adults over the age of eighteen vote.

Registration is strongly encouraged for in person attendance and is required for Zoom attendance. For security reasons, the Zoom link and Zoom phone number, with instructions, will be provided only to congregants who register. Please click here to register. Instructions will be distributed a few days in advance of the meeting.

This is an historic decision for our congregation, an opportunity to establish the direction of Temple Sinai’s future, and a decision that will set the course for Reform Judaism in the city of Pittsburgh. We look forward to your participation.
