Adult B'nei Mitzvah Class
Adult B'nei Mitzvah Class
"I wanted to become a Bat Mitzvah because I felt ignorant about so much of what goes on during a service. Through this class, I am now much more comfortable during services." – Susan Cohen
“I never had a Bat Mitzvah when I was 13. I was not familiar with the prayers or the Hebrew, and I had never studied Torah.” – Judy Mahan
“I am lucky to be part of an awe-inspiring group of Jewish adults all working and learning together. It has been an immense privilege and so humbling to learn with Rabbi Gorban and my adult B’nei Mitzvah group this year.” – Liz Miller
“This past year of studying with our B’nei Mitzvah class has been nourishment for my spirit.” – Louise Malakoff
Whether you were born Jewish or you chose Judaism, whether you celebrated becoming Bar/Bat Mitzvah as a child or you never had the opportunity, this course is for you! Experience the joy and awe of leading a service, reading from the Torah scroll, and teaching Torah as a Bar/Bat Mitzvah. Students will learn to recite the prayers in our service, explore what they mean, and study their Torah portion in depth. This course of study culminates in a service for the congregation.
