Let's Celebrate Rabbi Gibson's Retirement "Together" with a Drive-BYE Parade at Temple Sinai!

We had some fabulous plans for a grand send off to Rabbi Gibson, fitting with his 32 years of service, spiritual leadership, teachings, caring, counseling and enhancing our culture at Temple Sinai. As the saying goes, when man (and woman) plan… God laughs. 

As Rabbi Gibson (and Barbara) brought joy to us since 1988, we want to send them off in a spirit of joy, love, and fun with our “Drive-BYE” parade. 

For safety and to maintain order, everyone who wants to participate must register. We will have volunteers and a police detail along with staff there to assist. 

Please decorate your car with signs, balloons, streamers, and other fun items. (Sorry, but in order to make sure everyone stays safe, we're unable to have well-wishers park their cars and/or walk by. The sidewalk on the Temple Sinai side of Forbes Avenue will be closed to pedestrians.)

The Gibsons hope to see you there and hear your well wishes as you slowly drive by(e)!

Directions for a successful parade:
Cars are to report to Schenley Drive, off Forbes Ave (at the bend) where you will be met by volunteers in red vests who will sign you in. They will give you a small sign to put in your windshield and additional instructions for taking your place in the line of cars. 

Parade route:
Left out of Schenley Drive onto Forbes Avenue
First right off Forbes Avenue onto Aylesboro Avenue
Straight up Aylesboro to Wightman – turn right onto Wightman Street
Right onto Forbes Avenue and past Temple Sinai. Jamie and Barbara will be outside the main entrance.
Please decorate your car with signs, streamers, balloons—make it festive and fun! 

Please note: 
This is a parade—we ask that no one stops and gets out of the car, but proceed to drive by slowly and call out your good wishes to Jamie and Barbara. Please note: No cuts in line or bypassing the staging area/sign in. Police will be assisting us and you must have your sign in the windshield.
