5:45 PM - 7:00 PMCafé Agnes serves modern Salvadoran cuisine at farmers markets in Pittsburgh. In Spring 2020, our food stand will be returning to the Squirrel Hill, Bloomfield, and Market Square Farmers Markets.
Chef and owner Marcella Ogrodnik is a Pittsburgh native who started her food stand as a love letter to her family and culture in El Salvador. Ogrodnik has been a professional chef for over a decade and has cooked in Japan, Italy, France, and most recently Cure in Lawrenceville.
The Salvadoran Menu includes:
Beverage
Ensalada de fruta: Mixed fruit drink with pineapple, apple, strawberry, and watercress
Salad
Ensalada de repollo: Cabbage and jicama salad with avocado and pumpkin seed dressing
Side dish
Casamiento: A mix of rice and black beans sauteed with a sofrito of onion, tomato and pepper
Main Course
Beet Tostadas: Cooked beets on a corn crispy tortilla with minty salsa chirmol, a sunflower seed and morita chile dressing
Buttered pasta (for kids)
Tamales
Corn tamales stuffed with roasted poblano and hatch peppers, cheese, and salsa verde
Dessert
Coconut tres leche cake: A light cake soaked in three different types of milk
Quesadilla Salvadorña: Sweet and salty coffee cake
