We need more caring members to step forward so that no family is ever without support after losing a loved one.

Our congregation sends a Shiva Ambassador to every shiva home to provide comfort, support, and an extra pair of hands during a difficult time. Ambassadors help take coats, distribute prayer books, move chairs, tidy up, and participate in the minyan—simple acts that make a profound difference. Their presence reminds mourners that our community truly cares.

After attending a brief training session, ambassadors sign up for a one-week period when they are available in the evenings. If a death occurs during that week, they are called upon to serve. Many current volunteers say this is among the most meaningful and heartfelt ways they contribute to our community.

Right now, we don’t have enough ambassadors to cover every shiva. Please consider signing up—your presence will truly matter.
