Farewell Memory: Estelle Solomon-Cherin & Steven Cherin

Rabbi Jamie, Barbara and Misha had their first Thanksgiving in Pittsburgh at our home.

On Yom Kipper Day, Misha would come to our house in the afternoons to play with Joel and Steven.

So many milestones! Rabbi Jamie honored and blessed our family during Bar Mitzvahs, weddings, birthdays, three baby-namings, a funeral, and joyous times. During difficult times, Rabbi Jamie and Barbara were generous with their support.

Rabbi Jamie told us that we were the first couple to ask him to play his guitar at our wedding! We were honored as much as he was!

Our families laughed and cried together at times.

We will always remember his thoughtful sermons, creative services and programs. It was wonderful to hear how he could relate the past and to the present to be meaningful to our lives. And, for Steven, how he felt welcomed by Rabbi Jamie into the Temple Sinai family (even as Rabbi Jamie served as the protective "older brother" for Estelle)!
