Rabbi Gibson's Shiur (class) with Special Guest Rabbi Shira Stern
Join Us: Guest Speaker Rabbi Shira Stern, Crisis Rabbi for the Red Cross, on Wed., Nov. 14, 6:15 PM
It's been two weeks since the antisemitic shooting at Tree of Life, and all of our emotions have been on overdrive. Rabbi Jamie Gibson has invited Rabbi Shira Stern, Crisis Rabbi for the Red Cross, to join his Shiur (class) this week to talk with us about processing and healing from this tragedy. Everyone is welcome. No sign-up or fee required.

This class will explore how traditional sources of Jewish knowledge (Torah, Rabbinic Thought, Jewish Philosophy) addressed the issues of their time and how we tackle modern problems from a Jewish perspective. Classes will include topics such as racism and sexism, integrity in the home and workplace, the place of Israel in liberal Jewish concerns, Judaism and human sexuality, as well as the ongoing search for God. The class will use both text study and modern sources, including provocative videos, to better examine the difficult questions about living authentically as a modern, liberal Jew in America.
All are welcome! Contact Rabbi Gibson for more information at rabbigibson@templesinaipgh.org.
