Trip to Historic Johnstown

We invite you to join us for a trip to historic Johnstown, PA.


Trip highlights will include:

  • A narrated riding tour of Johnstown’s historic downtown that includes viewing buildings that survived the 1889 Johnstown Flood, an orientation to the old Jewish neighborhood of Iron Street, Grandview Cemetery, which contains the Jewish sections dating back to 1888 and the Unknown Plot of 1889 Johnstown Flood victims,
  • A dairy lunch and tour of Congregation Beth Sholom that will include viewing the 125th Anniversary Exhibit of Jewish Johnstown, the Bloom Archives, and the Jewish Museum,
  • A ride on the Johnstown Incline, the steepest vehicular incline in the world,
  • A ride around Westmont, Johnstown’s tree-lined suburb and home to the area’s Jewish community.


Cost: $20 (includes round-trip transportation on coach bus and lunch)
